Theodor Geisel, born on March 2, 1904 and better known as Dr. Seuss, wrote and illustrated more than 60 books, including such wonderful children’s classics as The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. Known for their whimsical rhymes and quirky characters, his children’s books are written for all ages. Many of his books have been adapted for TV and film, including How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Horton Hears A Who. His first children’s book, And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street, was rejected by over two dozen publishers before finally making it into print. Since publication, his books have sold 200 million copies and have been translated into more than 40 languages.
