Unakite is altered granite with traces of feldspar, epidote and quartz. It was first discovered in the Unakas Mountains in North Carolina, where it gets its name. Its most prominent use is a trimming to the front steps of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.

  • Due to the inherent nature of gemstones, each stone is singular in both color and shading. We have selected stones that truly complement each other, and each pair of earrings is unique.

  • The antique-silver metal bead caps have been treated with a protective coating to help prolong their shiny finish.
  • The stainless steel earwires are nickel-free and lead-free.
