Handcrafted Designs from the Delicate to the Bold

$10.00

French physician Rene Laennec invented the first stethoscope in 1816, using a long, rolled paper tube to funnel the sound from a patient’s chest to his ear. In 1851, Irish doctor Arthur Leared designed a stethoscope which used both ears — the first binaural stethoscope. Nowadays, it’s possible to record the sounds that can be heard through a stethoscope, amplify them, and even send them via Bluetooth. Due to its simplicity of use and its non-invasiveness, the stethoscope continues to revolutionize medicine as it is being upgraded, and there isn’t any sign of it becoming obsolete.
