Handcrafted Designs from the Delicate to the Bold

$12.00

The modern peace sign was designed by Gerald Holtom for the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in 1958. By the late 1960s, the symbol was being displayed in demonstrations in the U.S. protesting the war in Vietnam. It has since gained international stature and has been found around the world: on the Berlin Wall, in Sarajevo, and in Prague in 1968 when Soviet tanks made a show of force in what was then Czechoslovakia. The peace symbol was intentionally never copyrighted, and its universal, timeless message is available to all who wish to speak for peace.
